My Story
I wish I could show you,
when you are lonely
or in darkness,
the astonishing light
of your own being.
~ Hafez, 14th Century Persian Sufi mystic poet
Part I: Light Overcomes Darkness
Don't worry, it gets better!...
Having wrestled with bouts of depression since my mid-teens, I became a seeker of ways to improve body and mind health. But even as I would discover various coping strategies, I felt I was still tripping over life, riding the wave of a spontaneous rush of positivity one minute, and then curled up in a ball, begging the higher powers to rid me of my pain, in the next. My pain was not transformed; it was merely shoved down and shushed.
Many years later, when I was going through another low point, call it God's grace or the Universe giving me a nudge, or my dear husband's encouragement, I finally decided to seek professional help. I remember thinking, "Ok, fine, I'll look for help, whatever..." as my fingers reluctantly touched my keyboard to Yelp search for a therapist.
The therapist search evolved into a hypnotherapist search, and a week later I found myself on what felt like the most comfortable recliner in the world, in a small cozy office in Studio City, with an eye pillow over my eyes, my legs elevated above my heart, an angelic, soothing voice in my ears, a warm blanket over me, melting down into the recliner, and journeying towards a place I'd never been before. I was in trance.
Four weeks and three sessions later, I felt like I had a completely new operating system. My body movement turned from wood to flowing water -- new gifts, skills, a whole new set of values, a wonderful sense of self-worth and self confidence that I didn't even know existed within me were all starting to spring up and blossom in my mind and heart. Restorative Hypnotherapy had transformed the pain!
Part II: A New Space Emerges
When my hypnotherapist and now teacher/mentor, Lisa, extended an invitation to me to join her Restorative Hypnotherapy training class, I said yes. Wow, looking back now, what a life changing yes that was. I went from "I'm just curious, I want to see the inner workings of this miracle method that transformed my pain" to "This is what I was born to do in order to be of service to people!!!", in the blink of an eye. Everything clicked, the pieces of the puzzle came together, and after 4 levels of rigorous training and the completion of a hundred hours of practice with clients, I received my certification as a Restorative Hypnotherapist.
And here I am, at your service. Thank you for showing interest in and tuning into my journey. I can't wait to hear about your journey, from you. I want to listen and see how I can be of help.
You are the light of the world, and I would be honored to be your guide in your journey to uncover and restore that light!
