Frequently Asked Questions
Is Restorative Hypnotherapy safe?
Restorative Hypnotherapy is completely safe and relaxing. Some who have witnessed "stage hypnosis" shows are concerned that they will "lose control" of their mind or body, but this is not an issue (even with stage hypnosis). Often, those people on stage "acting like a chicken" are enjoying the attention of the audience (either consciously, subconsciously, or typically a combination of the two) and are willingly "playing along" with the stage hypnotist (it is an interesting and entertaining phenomenon).
Who can benefit from Restorative Hypnotherapy?
Anyone with issues like depression and anxiety, stress, sleep issues, trauma, eating habits/weight management, grief, PTSD, addictions, fears & phobias, studying for tests, performance anxiety, pain management, surgery prep & recovery, smoking/vaping cessation, addictions and many more... Even if you're not currently dealing with any negative issues, these sessions can help you reboot and revitalize to boost productivity and motivation. What does a Restorative Hypnotherapy session consist of?
Upon scheduling, you are welcome and encouraged to email me more information on your issue(s) which we can incorporate into the pre-talk part of our session and which I then use to create a tailored hypnosis for you. This talking part of the first session can last up to an hour and a half and helps bring some of your issues "to the surface". Then, during a ten minute break, you lie down in a comfortable, naturally relaxing position (detailed instructions will be provided, prior to your appointment). When you are comfortable, we begin the hypnotic trance which can last approximately one hour. At the conclusion of the trance, you are free to end the session and continue relaxing or even go to sleep, or "awake" and discuss your unique experience. I also email you a recording of each of your meditative trance sessions, to listen to however often you please.
Where are sessions held?
I have discovered that Restorative Hypnotherapy can be even more effective, through Zoom, from the comfort of your own home. As it is primarily an auditory experience, lying down comfortably in your own space with earphones or earbuds has the enhanced benefit of you not having to get up to drive home after your relaxing experience of trance.
Can you offer a Guided Meditation session like I experienced in your group sessions?
Yes, absolutely! If a trance/hypnosis experience is not your preference, for whatever reason, I'm more than happy to tailor a session that meets your needs. I'm also available to create group sessions, by request.
